There was the same number of registered sex offenders living in Clay County in March compared to the previous month, according to the Minnesota Public Registrant Search.

There are eight sex offenders registered in Clay County in March.

The Registry shows two of these sex offenders are sexual predators. In Minnesota, convicted predatory offenders also are subject to certain mandatory sentencing laws that are designed to minimize their chances to re-offend.

Minnesota legislation about sex offenders and predators is currently being evaluated and revised, such as if offenders with good behavior can be removed from the Registry.

Danny Fitzgerald Coleman	Criminal sexual conduct in the first degree	Offender engaged in sexual contact with a 13 year-old female victim. Contact included penetration. Offender gained access to victim through a pretense of asking for assistance. Force and threats were used to gain compliance. Offender was not known to victim.
David Mark Harmer	Sex offense, non-MN statute	Offender engaged in sexual contact with a 14 year-old female victim. The contact included penetration. Offender gained compliance through physical force and use of a weapon. Offender gained access to victim by taking advantage of her sleeping state. Offender met victim for the first time on the same day as offense.
Jesse James Syverson	Predatory offense, non-MN statute	Jesse Syverson has a history of possessing child pornography on his computer.
Rodney Russell Trudeau	Criminal sexual conduct in the first degree	Rodney Trudeau has a history of sexual contact with known female children. Contact has included sexual touching and penetration. Trudeau has used grooming, coercion, and his position of authority to gain compliance. Trudeau gained access while living at victims' residences.
Richard Folden	Criminal sexual conduct in the first degree	Richard Folden has a history of engaging in sexual contact with known female children and teens. Contact included penetration. Folden used threats to gain compliance in one instance.
Telemachus Johnson Martin	Criminal sexual conduct in the third degree	Telemachus Martin engaged in sexual contact with a known teen-aged female. Contact included penetration. Martin used attention and affection to gain and exploit access.
Leo Leonard Morin	Criminal sexual conduct in the first degree, criminal sexual conduct in the second degree, kidnapping	Leo Morin has a history of engaging in sexual contact with several known female children. Contact has included sexual touching and penetration. Morin used his position of authority to gain compliance.
Daniel Fike Grinder	Predatory offense, non-MN statute	Daniel Grinder engaged in sexual contact known minor females. Contact included sexual touching and penetration. Grinder used force, manipulation, coercion, and groomed victims with alcohol to gain compliance.
