City of Barnesville issued the following announcement on Nov. 18.
With an unusually wet fall season upon us, many sump pumps that don’t typically run this time of year are still discharging. This could result in frozen sump hoses and/or burned out pumps.
Barnesville residents are reminded that sump pumps can be discharged into the sanitary sewer from November 1 to March 31, IF THEY APPLY FOR A WAIVER from City Hall. With the waiver, the property owner agrees to pay an annual waiver fee of $50, which will be billed at $4.17 month.
