City of Barnesville issued the following announcement on Feb. 25.
Barnesville is seeking proposals from firms/individuals interested in performing the duties of part-time Animal Control Officer. This position performs routine and complex public safety work in the enforcement of animal control. Patrols streets to locate stray animals and promptly captures animals. Responds to complaints concerning animal problems or violations of animal control including, but not limited to, animals running at large, bites, property damage, or other injuries. Responsible for impounding stray and unleashed animals. Cares for, feeds, and houses animals in our facility until a proper home can be found. Responsible for completion, distribution, and retention of all reports required for various aspects of the animal control function. Carries out duties in conformance with federal, state, county and city laws and ordinances.
Approximately 14 hours/week
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
-Must possess a valid drivers license
-Enjoy working with animals
