Otter Tail County (OTC) is now correcting information that was previously issued concerning directions for payments of special property taxes, according to Fergus Falls Journal.

Property tax statements previously had incorrect details. The OTC has confirmed that it should have read: “IMPORTANT: Online credit card and electronic check payments can be made directly at either of the following links,” according to Fergus Falls Journal on Friday, April 3. It also included two links where the payments can be made.

Payers will be required to pay a convenience fee of $2 for electronic checks, and 2.85% for credit card payments.

While payers can also call 218-998=8295 to remit payment, a convenience fee will also be charged for that form of payment as well.

Taxpayers will also need their parcel number(s) on hand. Those can be found on the property ID number. They’re also asked to use the back-right side of the stubs to inform the department of changes like address.
