Alexandria Technical & Community College issued the following announcement.

Save the date!

ATCC Virtual Graduation Ceremony will be held

Friday, June 5 at 6 pm

Before the Ceremony:

Students should monitor their email for information about the virtual commencement ceremony. Some notifications will be made on social media. Follow us on your preferred platform to ensure you receive updates!

Commencement Materials:

In mid-May, students will be receiving a box shipped to their permanent address on file with ATCC. The box will include mortarboard and tassel, graduation programs, and special decoration if applicable (PTK cord or military cord). 

Special Decoration:

Phi Theta Kappa cords will be sent to students who participated in PTK. No additional action is required.

Military cords will be sent to self-declared active military or veterans who contacted us prior to the April 29 deadline.

Student Recognition:

With everything that’s happening in the world right now, we want to ensure we are doing our best to give you the recognition you deserve for your college achievements. Be creative and capture yourself in photo and/or video and submit them to us by Wednesday, May 20 at alextech.edu/2020grads (Submissions will be gathered through Microsoft Forms - you may need to log in with your StarID and password.)

Video and photo submissions will be shown as part of our virtual commencement ceremony to be held on Friday, June 5 at 6 pm (details sent via email). Your participation will bring the HEART and ENERGY that will make this virtual ceremony EPIC!

Here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing:

  1. A video of you turning your tassel from right to left
  2. A video of you tossing your grad cap in the air (horizontal video format)
  3. A photo of you in your cap and tassel
  4. An audio or video statement about what graduating means for you, or your future plans (horizontal video format)
  5. A short written statement (1-2 sentences) about what graduating means for you, or your future plans
  6. Record a quick virtual activity with your classmates to represent your program area
