City of Appleton issued the following announcement on June 12.
On Friday, June 5th the State of Minnesota announced that public pools would be allowed to open starting on June 10th. The State requires a number of safety measures be taken in order to open the Appleton Aquatic Center. City and Pool staff are currently working to prepare the pool and the appropriate pool rules based on those requirements.
While the State would have allowed us to open on Wednesday, the safety measures required are still being put in place and we do not have a definite opening date. We are working toward reopening and will provide an update on when that can happen.
We’re looking forward to having a safe & fun pool season.Our staff are working hard to finalize a pool and swimming lesson schedule. We will release it as soon as we can.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through the guidelines and staff training that are required under the state guidelines.
