City of Audubon issued the following announcement on Dec. 11.
Tuesday Dec 15th, 2020 until we have 3” of snowGiven fairly free snow cover and generally low fire danger, we find people taking advantage of the conditions for debris burning. Given the short day length, we have decided to allow for regular permits to be issued for all hours of the day.
You may begin issuing Burning Permits for 3 days for ALL DAY.
All the normal rules apply
:· Permittee must activate permit daily prior to lighting
.· Running fires will require a variance from DNR or other authorized authority
.· Burning of old buildings or building debris is not allowed
.· Campfires do not require permits (no bigger than 3’x3’)
.· If high winds / dry conditions are present activations may not be allowed
.· Report all unauthorized fires to 911 or local Forestry office
.· Once we have 3” of snow, permits are not required
