Survey Technician Trainee 

$25.75 hourly, Full Time-40 hours per week

A Survey Technician Trainee provides the Survey and GIS Division with accurate information and data concerning all aspects of the field and office functions involved in the Public Land Survey System, Geodetic Control network, Control Point inventory, County Parcel Mapping, and Subdivision Plat Checking.  

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT HIRE:

Must possess post-high school education in Survey/Civil Technology.  

Licenses and Other Requirements: 

Must possess a valid Minnesota Driver's License.

2-Year degree in Survey/Civil Technology must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

REQUIRED MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, & QUALITIES AT HIRE:

Detailed knowledge of the Public Land Survey System and manuals and a working knowledge of applicable state statutes.

Detailed knowledge of Minnesota Subdivision Plats and manuals and a working knowledge of applicable state statutes.

Thorough knowledge of Geodetic and Cadastral surveying using Global Positioning Systems and traditional Land Survey Equipment.

Utilize coordinate geometry, GPS, and Geoid software programs.

Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D Drafting and plotting skills.
