Alexandria Public School District: MCA and MTAS Math results for 2021-22 school year

Alexandria Public School District ranked first in the Douglas County for test participation, with 1,990 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Alexandria Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 4.4% over the previous year.

Alexandria Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 54% in 2021-22 school year.

Fourth grade students stood out with 36% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, 11th-grade students had the most room for improvement, with 31% not meeting the expected standards.

Alexandria Public School District encompasses schools within Douglas County and has a main office in Alexandria.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
