Were students of Brandon-Evansville Public School District able to meet MCA and MTAS Math testing expectations in 2021-22 school year?

Brandon-Evansville Public School District ranked third in the Douglas County for test participation, with 276 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Brandon-Evansville Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year fell by 1.4% from the previous year.

Brandon-Evansville Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 62% in 2021-22 school year.

Eighth grade students stood out with 38% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, 11th-grade students had the most room for improvement, with 23% not meeting the expected standards.

Brandon-Evansville Public School District encompasses schools within Douglas County and has a main office in Brandon.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
