Benson Public School District students performance on MCA and MTAS in 2021-22 school year?

Benson Public School District ranked first in the Swift County for test participation, with 376 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Benson Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year fell by 0.5% from the previous year.

Benson Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 42% in 2021-22 school year.

Fourth grade students stood out with 21% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, 11th-grade students had the most room for improvement, with 56% not meeting the expected standards.

Benson Public School District encompasses schools within Swift County and has a main office in Benson.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
