Breckenridge Public School District: MCA and MTAS Math results for 2021-22 school year

Breckenridge Public School District ranked first in the Wilkin County for test participation, with 332 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Breckenridge Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 6.4% over the previous year.

Breckenridge Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 43% in 2021-22 school year.

Fourth grade students stood out with 33% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, eighth grade students had the most room for improvement, with 43% not meeting the expected standards.

Breckenridge Public School District encompasses schools within Wilkin County and has a main office in Breckenridge.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
