How did Barnesville Public School District students do on 2021-22 MCA and MTAS Math tests?

Barnesville Public School District ranked second in the Clay County for test participation, with 476 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Barnesville Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 6% over the previous year.

Barnesville Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 66% in 2021-22 school year.

Fourth grade students stood out with 35% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, fifth grade students had the most room for improvement, with 23% not meeting the expected standards.

Barnesville Public School District encompasses schools within Clay County and has a main office in Barnesville.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.
