Registered sex offender: 1 living in Pope County in Q1

The population of registered sex offenders in Pope County remained unchanged from first quarter of 2024 to fourth quarter of 2023, with 1 offender residing in the area, according to the Minnesota Public Registrant Search.

The Registry shows this sex offender is not a sexual predator. In Minnesota, convicted predatory offenders also are subject to certain mandatory sentencing laws that are designed to minimize their chances of re-offend.

Minnesota legislation about sex offenders and predators is currently being evaluated and revised, such as if offenders with good behavior can be removed from the Registry.
