Michelle Fischbach, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Minnesota's 7th district since 2021, has recently expressed her views on tax policies and their impact on American families and businesses through a series of tweets. Fischbach, who succeeded Collin Peterson in her congressional role, is advocating for what she terms "One Big Beautiful Bill" to address these issues.
On May 20, 2025, Fischbach highlighted concerns about potential tax increases in her district by stating that "The average median income in #MN07 is $70,000. If tax cuts are allowed to expire at the end of the year, the average taxpayer in MN07 will see a 25% increase. We need tax relief for the average American. We need One Big Beautiful Bill."
The following day, May 21, she emphasized the importance of the 199A Small Business Deduction for small businesses across the nation. She tweeted that "The 199A Small Business Deduction is not for billionaires. It impacts millions of small businesses across the country. A vote against One Big Beautiful Bill is a vote against America's small businesses."
Later on May 21, Fischbach turned her attention to family-oriented fiscal policies by advocating for an expansion of the Child Tax Credit. She noted that "Millions of families are counting on us to expand the Child Tax Credit. A vote against One Big Beautiful Bill is a vote against American families."
Michelle Fischbach was born in Woodbury, Minnesota in 1965 and currently resides in Regal. She graduated from St. Cloud State University with a BA in 1989 and earned a JD from William Mitchell College of Law in 2011.
