Congresswoman Fischbach from Minnesota's 7th District has joined forces with 55 of her colleagues in a concerted effort to support the Trump administration's engagement in agricultural trade policies. The group sent a letter to several key figures, including U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins, and Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick.

The letter commends the administration for its ongoing trade negotiations aimed at securing robust market access for American farmers, ranchers, and manufacturers. It acknowledges President Trump's decision to pause certain reciprocal tariffs as an opportunity to secure meaningful agreements that benefit U.S. industries.

In their communication, the members expressed strong support for these negotiations: "We write to you to express our strong support for ongoing trade negotiations to level the playing field for American producers and manufacturers." They emphasized the importance of addressing pressing trade issues such as digital services taxes, import quotas, and tariff reduction.

The representatives highlighted that long-term certainty provided by trade agreements could prevent commodity price declines and recover global market share. They also noted that bilateral agreements addressing both tariff and non-tariff barriers could strengthen supply chains and increase international collaboration.

Representatives who co-signed the letter include Adrian Smith (R-NE), Max Miller (R-OH), Mike Bost (R-IL), Claudia Tenney (R-NY), Don Bacon (R-NE), among others.
