Stevens County: 0.1% more students were enrolled in 2024-25 school year

There were 1,671 students enrolled in Stevens County schools in the 2024-25 school year, 0.1% more than the previous year, according to reports from the Minnesota Department of Education.

In terms of gender distribution, the student body in Stevens County comprised 52.2% boys, with girls representing the remaining 47.8%.

Data also showed that white students made up 74.2% of the student body, the largest percentage in Stevens County schools, followed by Hispanic students with 18.7%, 2.9% American Indian students, 2.9% multiracial students, 0.8% Black students and 0.5% Asian students.

Morris Area Elementary had the highest enrollment among Stevens County's six schools in the 2024-25 school year, welcoming 557 students.

With more than 870,000 students enrolled, Minnesota's public school system is the 10th-largest in the United States. As of 2025 the student-to-teacher ratio in the state’s public schools is 15 to 1, on par with the national average.
