Rep. Michelle Fischbach, U.S. Congresswoman representing Minnesota’s 7th district since 2021, has used her social media accounts to comment on the recent government shutdown and place responsibility on congressional Democrats.

On October 1, 2025, Fischbach wrote, "This morning I had the opportunity to be on the Up Front show on KLTF Radio and share how the Democrats let the government shut down last night. Republicans did our job. We passed a clean CR weeks ago."

The following day, October 2, she posted about another radio appearance: "On the 'What’s on Your Mind?' show on The Flag this morning I shared about the shutdown. This is on the Democrats’ back. They are holding the American people hostage for their radical agenda."

On October 3, as the shutdown continued into its third day, Fischbach simply posted: "Day 3".

Michelle Fischbach succeeded Collin Peterson in Congress in 2021 and previously served in the Minnesota Senate from 2017 to 2018. Born in Woodbury, Minnesota in 1965 and currently residing in Regal, she holds a BA from St. Cloud State University (1989) and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law (2011).
