Learning about suicide can help us look at suicide from a different angle, one of understanding and compassion for an individual who is struggling. Let’s look at some common myths about suicide.
MYTH: Talking about suicide will lead to or encourage suicide.
FACT: Talking about suicide not only reduces stigma but also allows individuals to seek help, rethink their opinions and share their stories with others. We should not be afraid to speak up about suicide, mental illness, or to seek treatment.
