Representative Jim Joy (R-Hawley) has begun his second term in the Minnesota House of Representatives as the 2025 legislative session starts. Joy was sworn in at the State Capitol, where he reiterated his commitment to serving District 4B.

“It is an honor to serve my neighbors in District 4B at the Capitol,” said Joy. “As a former Mayor and a small business owner, I understand the importance of delivering on issues that matter most to Minnesotans,” Rep. Joy emphasizes that “we need to ease the financial burdens on families, fighting for tax relief, ensuring our elections are secure, putting an end to fraud in government programs, and building a strong foundation for the future of Minnesota.”

For the upcoming biennium, Rep. Joy will take on new responsibilities within several House committees. He will serve as GOP Vice Chair on the Taxes Committee and will also be a member of both the Transportation Finance and Policy Committee and the State Government Finance and Policy Committee.

"The challenges we face as a state are real, but so are the opportunities to make Minnesota a better place for all,” said Rep. Joy. “This session, I will work tirelessly to ensure we create lasting solutions for our families, our communities, and our businesses. Together, we can build a future that honors our values, supports growth, and strengthens Minnesota for generations to come."

Joy encourages residents of District 4B to participate in legislative matters by reaching out with questions or ideas via phone or email. Constituents can also subscribe to his newsletter through www.house.mn.gov or follow him on social media at https://www.facebook.com/RepJimJoy/.
