Alexandria Area High School issued the following announcement on July 22.
Let's meet Matalynn Soderberg a new #ATeam206 Special Education Teacher at Discovery Middle School staff member!
What is your hometown?:
Moorhead, MN - Yes, I was a Spud!
Where did you attend college?:
Minnesota State University Moorhead - I have a degree in Elementary Inclusive Education and an additional license as an Academic and Behavior Strategist in Special Education!
Tell us about yourself/your family:
I grew up in Moorhead, MN where most of my family still lives! I have two amazing and supportive parents, my brother, and my sister. I moved to Alexandria last year to finish up school and then to begin my career as an educator. I recently got married to my wonderful husband Brian and we just bought our first house!
What are your interests/hobbies:
I love to bake! Anything sweet is my weakness. I also love to read - mystery is my favorite. My favorite place to be is outside. I love tending to my flowers, camping, hanging out in my hammock or having bonfires! Summertime is definitely my season.
What are you most excited about when it comes to working on the A-Team:
Last year I was able to complete my student teaching and do some subbing within the Alexandria School District. The staff at every school were so welcoming and helpful as I continued to grow as an educator. I cannot wait to grow into my own classroom and work with all the amazing staff and students at Discovery Middle School in the upcoming school year. I am so excited to continue to be a part of the A-Team!
